Association to a woman photographer.<br />It is awarded in accordance with the following rules:<br />It has been awarded every other year since 2012, and is open to all living women photographers, without regard to their nationality or the subject matter of their work. Work done for commercial advertising or as an editorial assignment for an article will not be accepted. Photos submitted to the Virginia Prize should not have been exhibited in France. However, the artist may have already exhibited other works in France. Photographers should enter a body of work which they consider complete. The prize is not intended to finance the completion or the exhibition of a body of photographic work. The prize is free of cost.<br />The Jury is composed of eight members who deliberate and nominate the winner. The jury consists of 8 recognized specialists working in the field of visual arts. Research on the microbiome has blossomed thanks to technological advances in genomics and bioinformatics. Already, many surprising discoveries have been made about the fundamental role the microbiota play in inflammation, cancer, obesity and many other chronic non-communicable diseases that assail humans. The groundwork has been laid for a shift of gear from mapping microbial associations with health and disease states to working out the mechanistic details and the dynamics of the interactions between hosts and their microbiota. The radio dramas can be on any subject you like, as long as they are 53 minutes long.<br />This year the two first prizes can come from either the English as a First Language or the English as a Second Language category. Both winners will receive a cash prize of £2,500 sterling, travel to London to attend an award ceremony, and see their plays recorded before they're broadcast on the BBC World Service.<br />Last year we received over 1,500 entries from a record 112 countries. The grant will fund a woman reporter covering subculture, broadly defined, and what Kim liked to call “the undercurrents of rebellion.” Kim wanted more women to be out in the world, brushing up against life, and the Kim Wall Memorial Fund honors this legacy.<br /><strong>All applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:</strong><br /><ul><li>Affiliated or freelance women-identifying or non-binary journalists with three (3) or more years of professional experience working in news media from anywhere in the world. Internships do not count toward professional experience.</li><li>Non-native English speakers must have excellent written and verbal English skills in order to fully participate in and benefit from the program.</li><li>Applicant must be able to show proof of interest from an editor or have a proven track record of publication in prominent media outlets.</li><li>Grants will be awarded to cover reporting-related costs including travel (flights, ground transportation, drivers), logistics, insurance, visa fees, and payment for fixers/translators.</li></ul>The IWMF believes that gender does not conform to one notion.
